Welcome to my blog. I am Director of Education at the Inspiration Trust, a Multi-Academy Trust in Norfolk. I was formerly Senior Lecturer at the University of Cambridge Faculty of Education, where I ran the history PGCE course and the secondary PGCE mentor training programme.  Before taking up my post in Cambridge in 1997, I held posts in state comprehensive schools in England as history teacher, head of history, head of humanities, deputy headteacher, local authority adviser in primary and secondary schools, and subject leader for a SCITT in Gloucestershire.  I have worked extensively in international settings, with schools, universities, subject associations, NGOs and government bodies.  I specialised in supporting the teaching of history in post-conflict zones.

This blog is dedicated to my dear friends and colleagues, the brave and noble history teachers of Cyprus and Lebanon.
